Gone Too Soon

G od took you gently by the hand,
O n wings of love to another land,
N estled in the clouds up high,
E ternal live he gave you in the sky,

T he ones left behind have broken hearts,
O h they did not want you to depart,
O ne day you will all meet again,

S aving a place and no more pain,
O n wings of love in Heaven above,
O ur hearts are filled with lots of love,
N ever more then a heartbeat away,

Gone too soon but remembered every single day.

Each donned their uniform to be
Defenders of our liberty

Their mission sure, their spirits bright
Guard freedom's home, be brave to fight

One final day each faced their call
Each gave their best enduring all

We'll never know what they went through
But know they loved this country true

Deep down inside we should all feel
What heroes gave, their cost so real

We must stay thankful, grateful of
The gift of freedom through their love

Their loved ones bore the gravest pain
What we can't know, some now sustain

To God I pray their pain will cease
And each will find long-lasting peace

Remember this from year to year
What heroes gave " shan't disappear

We'll never let their special day
Their time for honor slip away

These brave fought for a nation free
If not for them, where would we be?

Off to war
With their heads held high
Scared of course
For they know they may die

But each brave soul
Stands their ground
And aims their gun
To take the next round

In each of their eyes
Shines red, white, and blue
For they know there destiny
And thats to fight for me and you

Each letter they recieve
Drives them hard
Because they realize we believe
And thats bravery at heart

When you lay your head down
Each and every night
You can sleep soundly
Without any fright

Families may miss them
But they are also proud too
For they know the duties in play
They know what they're there to do

To fight for justice, freedom, and rights
To go to limits no country has gone
To show our strength
And drive further on

We will remember them.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, Will we remember them.

The Inquisitive Mind Of A Child

Why are they selling poppies mummy?
Selling poppies in the town today
The poppies, child are flowers of love
For the men who marched away
But, why have they chosen poppy, mummy?
Why not a beautiful rose?
Because, my child, men fought and died
In the fields where the poppies grow
But why are the poppies so red, mummy?
Why are the poppies so red?
Red is the colour of the blood, my child
The blood that our soldiers shed
The heart of the poppy is black mummy
Why does it have to be black?
Black my child, is the symbol of grief
For the men who never came back
But, mummy, are you crying so?
Your tears are giving you pain
My tears are my fears for you my child
For the world is - FORGETTING AGAIN.
